Anime Review: Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru.

This romantic comedy revolves around an antisocial high school student named Hikigaya Hachiman with a distorted view on life and no friends or girlfriend. When he see his classmates talking excitedly about living their adolescent lives, he mutters: “They’re a bunch of liars.” When he is asked about his future dreams, he responds: “Not working.” A teacher gets Hachiman to join the ‘Volunteer Service’ club, which happens to have the school’s prettiest girl: Yukinoshita Yukino. General Information:

Alternative Titles: My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU, Oregairu, My youth romantic comedy is wrong as I expected.
Type: TV
Directed by: Ai Yoshimura
Episodes: 13
Aired: Apr 5, 2013 to Jun 28, 2013
Producers: Brains Base, TBS, Sentai Filmworks
Genres: Comedy, Romance
Rating: PG-13 – Teens 13 or older

I finished watching Oregairu a while ago, around the beginning of the month to be exact. The anime is a comedy as it says in the genre. It’s pretty funny, and entertaining. I think they missed calling it psychology, because the main character seems to hate the wold and is always opinionated. The anime has a very interesting point of view on things and I really enjoyed it.
Yukino is the best ever. I’m totally a fan. She adds this charm to the anime. Totally adore her. Over all the anime was very good. It surprised me a lot of times. It was never predictable. It always kept me wanting more. So you see it’s awesome! I highly recommend it!

Game Review: Liberation Maiden

Liberation Maiden is a full-scale 3D sci-fi shooter created by critically acclaimed developer Goichi Suda. An invading country is stealing all of Japan’s energy. The player controls Shoko Ōzora (voiced by Kana Hanazawa), a high school girl who became President of Japan after her father’s assassination, as she enters the mech Kamui to fight back. It features animated cutscenes created by Studio BONES and the main theme song, “Day of Liberation” performed by Marina.

General Information:

Genre: Shooter, Action
Developer: Grasshopper Manufacture
Publisher: Level 5
Designer: Goichi Suda
Release Date: 3DS October 25, 2012, iOS March 7, 2013
Platform: Nintendo 3DS, iOS
Website: Click Here

The other day I bought a Nintendo gift card, redeemed the code and logged in Nintendo eShop. That’s when I saw this title “Liberation Maiden” and check out the trailer. I was very impressed with the animation so I bought the game. The reason why I’m telling you this story is because, I never heard about this title before that day. The game was cheap which surprised me. The quality of this game is pretty high, I mean as I started the first stage I had to go back and check the game price. It’s worth every dollar.
The graphics and animation were awesome. The mecha you pilot is incredible. I’ve never played a better pilot/Mecha/shooting game in my life. I might be exaggerating there, but for those that are familiar with good flight/shooter games, it’s as good as the Dreamcast games from that genre. I was a bit disappointed that the language was only English. I would’ve loved to hear the story in Japanese.
I almost forgot to mention the game play. The game is played by the touch screen and moving pad on 3DS. The game is short, it’s pretty easy to beat. Though there was this one stage that I struggled in, because I couldn’t find the enemy :P but once I did it was easy to finish. I strongly recommend this game. If you don’t have a 3DS, it’s now available in Apple App Store. The game is incredibly fun, and so refreshing. It has amazing graphic and the game play feels old school which is the best! It’s a must get.

Rate: 4/5

P.S. For those that already played the game I’m happy to tell you that there is a sequel visual novel of the game titled Liberation Maiden: SIN and it will be released for ps3.

Manga Review: Gantz – Manga Olympics for Bloggers (Seinen/Shounen Round 2)

Thought your life was bad? Sometimes, death is worse. There is no salvation, peace, nor god waiting to receive you into their care. But wait, a god? Maybe you are talking about that big black ball stuck in the room with you. Now you are thrown into a game, fighting green aliens and robot monsters for the chance to survive.
When Kei Kurono is killed, he thus finds himself caught in such a game; a test of his skills, morals and will to survive. His life is not his own, his death spat and trampled upon over and over again. What happens if he does not listen? God knows.
A word of warning: Gantz is not for the faint-hearted, but neither is it as simple as it looks. Gore, rape and violence is rampant, as are portrayals of greed, violence, and all the ugliness that one sees in society today. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

General Information:

Type: Manga
Volumes: 37
Chapters: 383
Status: Finished
Published: Jul 13, 2000 to Jun 20, 2013
Genres: Action, Drama, Ecchi, Horror, Sci-Fi, Supernatural, Psychological, Seinen
Authors: Oku, Hiroya (Story & Art)
Serialization: Young Jump

Firs of all thank you Sir Hiroya Oku for 13 amazing years of Gantz. I still can’t believe it ended… I kept looking for one more page after the last page of the last chapter. So yeah, I’m a huge Gantz fan. It’s an amazing manga if you haven’t checked it out, you should.

Now for the actual review. Gantz concept is totally unique. The manga Follows Kei Kurono & Masaru Katou, they are basically the main characters. Due to the concept of the story a lot of characters appear in the manga. The manga is amazing. I loved the story up until the Osaka Arc. It was magical. Though the last arc which is the catastrophe arc, was totally weird. The manga does develop greatly to reach that arc, but the fights weren’t as good as the previous arcs.
The action is absolutely brutal through out the whole manga, I’m not saying that the last arc was bad. It was just a little disappointing for me. Also, I’ve noticed that the whole focus was back to Kurono. I know that Nishi and Sakurai were also main topics in that arc, though it always fell back to Kurono. To be completely honest here, I was disappointed and didn’t like that fact. One more thing I didn’t like in the manga was the fact that we didn’t see most of the characters in action. Specially Reika, did she ever fight?
Supposedly she got 100 point and fought bravely against so many tough Aliens. Though we didn’t see any of that, did we? It was always Kurono this, Kurono that, and her looking pretty in the background of the page… I mean seriously? Well, even with all that its still my favorite manga and it’s the best and brutalist manga out there. Also the story is amazing. I like the idea of Gantz. Is it recommended? Yes of course.

Manga Review: Tokarev no Ayaui Shiro

Suzuhara Ayaka deeply idolized her best friend, Shiroyama Hiroko. But when they were in high school together, Hiroko dropped out and vanished, telling Ayaka only that it was for something very important. Now, a letter from Hiroko to Ayaka has washed ashore with the corpse of a girl, asking for help.
Chasing after Hiroko, Ayaka goes to visit a strangely isolated high school for girls, which seems creepily eager to accept Ayaka as a student. Will Ayaka be able to uncover the school’s secrets and rescue Hiroko before it is too late? (Source: MangaHelpers)

General Information:

Alternative Title: Unstable Castle of Tokarev
Type: Manga
Volumes: 2
Chapters: 8
Status: Finished
Published: 2010 to 2012
Genres: Mystery, Drama, School, Shoujo Ai, Yuri
Authors: Tsukiji, Toshihiko (Story), Uguisu, Kagura (Art)
Serialization: Dengeki Daioh Genesis

I was very disappointed with how things out in the end. The manga had a strong beginning. Things were pretty mysterious and the main character wants to save her friend. Somewhere in the middle of the manga things start to not make much sense. Then the mystery starts uncovering little by little. Though at the end the manga turns into fantasy. I seriously don’t understand where that part came from. It was pretty disappointing. I had high hopes for this manga. Though with all the disappointment I have to say I really enjoyed reading the first 4 chapters. Other than that, there is not much to it.

Overall Review: 4/10
