Review:

So after watching the anime I was psyched to watch the movie. Slice of Life anime are always great. The movie is a completion of an untold part of the story in the anime. Its something that I wondered about watching the anime so I was really glad that the movie told that story. I highly recommend that you watch the anime before watching the movie. I really enjoyed learning more about Ohana and her mother in that movie. You will also enjoy the movie even if you haven’t watched the anime. Though I still recommend the anime first. Both the anime and movie are great it would be a shame to miss out on either of them. So make sure to check out the movie and anime.

Video Game Review: Toukiden

visual

Plot:

The setting is Nakatsu Kuni which has been protected since ancient times by “Slayers”. These warriors have banded together to purge demons and other forces of darkness for one thousand years, thus earning their title as “demon slayers”.

Eight years before the main story, time and the heavens distorted and the underworld emerged into the land of man. A great demon rose from its gap and plunged the land into an age of calamity. The Slayers fought tooth and nail against the demon and its army for seven grueling days; they barely succeeded in their mission to save humanity. The great conflict was later called the “Awakening”, and the Slayers whom fought in it were appointed to help restore the land’s political realm.

The protagonist is a part of the new wave of Slayers who rise to deal with the land’s never-ending demonic forces. They reside at Utakata Village, one of the last lines of defense in the war between demons and humanity.

Review:

Toukiden is one of the most entertaining games I’ve ever played. I love the setting and music of the game. The game has 6 maps that you will unlock during your missions. The story of the game last up to 5 chapters. After chapter 5 you’ll finish the story of the game but there are still a lot of mission that you will have to complete along with quests and relationship status. There are 6 NPC that you can take with you during missions they will fight along your side. You will also form bonds with all 12 NPCs. My favorite is Nagi, she’s the most helpful during boss(Large Oni) battles.

The game also has a verity of weapons that you can choose from and different armors. You get to customize your own character of course. The game also has a Online co-op and single mood. The online missions are different from the missions that you play in the offline mood. Of course there is also the Ad hoc mood.

Most importantly the game is very fun and a bit challenging if you don’t have the right team. The story of the game is actually deep I didn’t expect that. It took me 20hr to finish the game and I was taking my time. The game wont bore you that was the most important part for me. Though compared to Fire Emblem: Awaking, Toukiden is short.

Review:

I’m a fan of Maleficent, but I have to treat this as a movie so… First, I’m very glad that they made a movie about Maleficent. I hope they would make one about Ursula, that would be awesome. Back to the movie, the first thing you will notice is the amazing graphics and forest design. Also the verity of creatures living in The Moors. The second thing you’ll notice is how beautiful Angelina is as Maleficent. Then Aurora is born and you wouldn’t be able to ignore the babies cuteness. Probably halfway through the movie you’ll realize that no one had a decent conversion up until this point but who cares. The good fairies are funny.

Of course through out the movie they will show you some awesome battle scenes that by the end of the movie you realize that it was just another Disney movie… minus the music of course. The movie is amazing. I very much enjoyed it but that was exactly how it went. I do recommend it. I would give it a 4 if it wasn’t too storytelling based but it was. So enjoy the movie

Review:

I usually don’t like movies that are sad. Surprisingly I liked this one. I haven’t read the novel yet so this review is strictly about the movie. The movie began as a total cliche. Literally like every other romantic movie. I was disappointed. Then the movie took a completely different turn. the story was actually beautiful. I even got a favorite quote from the movie. It was that good. This is the first movie that ever made me wonder about how I actually feel about the movie that I just watched… if you know what I mean. Like there was tones of emotions there. Also the twist took me by surprise. I’m not even sure I can call it a twist I mean wasn’t that what the movie was building up to? Yet, still the ending made me wonder whether or not I like the movie. It was realistic and brilliant. Yet there was still that cliche aspect to it… but still beautiful. I feel like I’m just blabbering now so just go watch the movie, its good. Its really good.

Review:

Kyoukai no Kanata where shall I begin… Its amazing in a very unexpected way. The anime is both brutal and filled with fan service for a PG-13 rated anime. The story is very good both beautiful and sad. There are many amazing stuff in the anime I cant pin point one thing that made it special. To simplify it, its a Slice of life anime with a hint of comedy that takes an action turn of events. I must mention that the animation is gorgeous. Also the characters never failed to surprise me. I really enjoyed getting to know their powers and personalities. I believe that the director and writer are very creative specially with the way they laid down the ending. I totally respect them for that. I wished that the anime had more action in it or more like I wish that some fights have lasted longer. Nonetheless its a great anime.

Color-in-Simoun

Review:

Simoun had a very unusual story. I cant call the anime Shoujo Ai or Yuri though. The characters in the anime are genderless and they can choose their gender once they are 18 I guess or something like that. So there are a lot of stuff about this anime that you need to consider when watching it. Like the Mecha, which I love there. The story had so much depth in it. I wasn’t expecting that. Also it addresses some serious issues which was very entertaining for me, In short, It exceeded my expectations in a very good way. I also loved the fact that I got to see every characters story they didn’t just focus one the two main characters. There was something about the ending that I didn’t quite like. It would be a major spoiler if I mention it so watch the anime and enjoy it. It has a pretty good story. The ending isn’t bad or anything like that. There was just something there that I didn’t like.

Manga Review: Shoujo Kakumei Utena

246951Summary:

Serialization: Ciao

65440Review:

After watching Utena’s movie I had to know more about the series so I watched the anime and then read the manga. The anime is kinda unimportant compared to the manga. The manga is absolutely amazing. There are some stuff in the manga that are not included in neither the movie or the anime which I think are important. There is more character development in Utena in the manga. The ending was beautiful. It also made me understand Anthy more I think. I fallen in love with Utena after reading the manga, not that I wasn’t already in love with her but she seemed more real to me. I also loved how straight forward the manga is. The special chapter were pretty good too. The stories there were better told in the manga than the anime. Therefore I highly recommend the manga. Also if you are interested in knowing the difference between the manga and the anime just watch the last 3 episodes of the anime. I should also mention that the ending of the anime is different from the manga and different from the movie. Though the essence of the story is the same in all of them.
