Anime Review: Kyousougiga TV

Koto and her brothers, A and Un are stuck in a strange city causing massive mayhem through the land called Kyoto but not the Kyoto they are from. They are searching for an atypical rabbit in order to return home. Koto, who is the eldest of the three, seems to have some sort of connection to this weird place ruled by a monk, a demon, and a priest.

Ever since I’ve watched the OVA I’ve been out-blown by Kyousougiga. It had beautiful art and an insane concept. It was also the most animated anime I’ve come across. Therefore I was thrilled that it was getting a TV release and up to 10 episodes. I mean how more amazing can this get? I love how they didn’t change the concept much they simply explained the OVA. Like how the worlds came to be and how the creatures came to be. Also we got background stories of almost all the characters which was pretty interesting. The thing I loved most about this anime is we the beautiful animation but more over the thrilling action. It was always allover the place but within reason and it served the story right. It also had the right amount of drama and comedy, so its never boring. The ending of the anime however, gave me mixed feeling. It was good but it wasn’t what I expected or what I wanted to see. but it was good. So I highly recommend Kyousougiga for its one of the best animated animes out there and its worth checking out that’s for sure.

Movie Review: Steins;Gate – Fuka Ryouiki no Deja vu

The film takes place one year after the events of the anime series. After going through a painstaking journey across multiple “World Lines” due to the invention of “D-Mail,” text messages that can be sent to the past, Rintarou Okabe has assumedly landed in the “Steins Gate” World Line, in which none of his friends would have to die and a future ruled by SERN due to the invention of a time machine no longer exists. However, Rintarou soon starts feeling the side effects of his constant time traveling across multiple World Lines, which soon builds up and causes Rintarou to suddenly vanish from existence, with only Kurisu Makise, the girl who he had saved thanks to his efforts, remembering him through déjà vu. It is now up to Kurisu to find a way to get Rintarou back. (Source: Wikipedia)

Producers: Frontier Works, Media Factory, Movic, AT-X, White Fox, Kadokawa Pictures Japan, Mages
Genres: Sci-Fi, Thriller
Rating: PG-13 – Teens 13 or older

If you have watched the anime you know that it follows Okabe Rintarou. Similar to the anime the movie talks about time travel though unlike the anime It actually follows Makise Kurisu. If you haven’t watched the anime and you are planing to, the movie wont ruin the anime for you. The movie was more of a romance drama than the anime. Nonetheless it was absolutely beautiful. The movie’s main focus was on Kurisu-san and how she’s trying for Okabe. It was very good and I’ve very much enjoyed it. But compared to other animated movies it wasn’t great. As a Steins;Gate side story it was perfect.

What I’m trying to say is if you are new to the series you will enjoy the movie. If you are a fan you’ll love the movie because of its different prospective. I’m a fan and I loved it.

Manga Review: Seiten no Hekigan

Even after one month of transferring to a new school, Natsuki keeps her distance from her classmates. Her childhood friend Haruka always tries to push her to be more sociable, but Natsuki just pushes her away. One day, while Natsuki was skipping class and eating lunch on the school balcony, a slime-like substance drops right on top of her. The slime slowly forms itself into… a human girl? An odd relationship between Natsuki and her new alien(?) sister begins. (Source: MangaHelpers)

General information:

Type: Manga
Volumes: 2
Chapters: 12
Status: Publishing
Published: Oct 10, 2012 to Oct 10, 2013
Genres: Fantasy, School, Sci-Fi
Authors: Takishima, Asaka (Story & Art)
Serialization: Manga Life Win

They killed this manga too soon… the story was just about to get real. The manga had so much potential, but got cancelled. So this is me crying about it. The manga is about a criminal alien that was exiled to plant earth. The alien first encounter is a girl named Natsuki. The alien turned into a female human and started following Natsuki around and living as her sister.
The story felt more like a slice of life than a fantasy. I loved the flow of the events in the manga. It’s a shame that the manga ended too soon. Even though it was building up pretty well. I’ve very much enjoyed every chapter of the manga and if it were licensed I would buy it for sure.

Anime Review: Sasami-san@Ganbaranai

The Japanese call them hikikomori—people who’ve become so withdrawn socially that they refuse to leave their homes for weeks and even months at a time. For Sasami Tsukuyomi, who’s attempting to pass her first year of high school despite being a shut in, it’s more than just a word. Fortunately though, she lives with her older brother Kamiomi, who just happens to be a teacher at the school Sasami is supposed to attend. Not to mention, her “Brother Surveillance Tool” which lets her view the outside world via her computer and will, theoretically, allow her to readjust to interfacing with people again. What it mainly does, however, is let her view her brother’s interactions with the three very odd Yagami sisters, who inexplicably seem to have had their ages reversed and have various types of “interest” in Kamiomi. And then things start to get really weird… Magical powers? Everything turning into chocolate? Is life via the web warping Sasami’s brain, or is it the universe that’s going crazy? (Source: Sentai Filmworks)

General Information:

Type: TV
Episodes: 12
Status: Finished Airing
Aired: Jan 11, 2013 to Mar 29, 2013
Producers: Aniplex, Shaft, TBS, Sentai Filmworks
Genres: Comedy, Romance, Supernatural
Rating: PG-13 – Teens 13 or older

At first I was interested in Sasami-san@Ganbaranai because Sasami is a hikikomori. Like in the first episode how she was writing her fictional story… It was epic how the events of the episode kept turning. Then there was the Yagami sisters, they made the show very fun to watch. In short I enjoyed Sasami-san@Ganbaranai very much. The anime was full of action, unnatural events, comedy, and pretty emotional issues that were addressed there. It was very interesting to watch pretty unpredictable and they keep surprising you in each and every episode. It got pretty dark at times… Like very dark but it didn’t ruin the story. The anime wasn’t great but it was very good. I wasn’t impressed with the ending, it didn’t do the anime justice. Overall very good anime.

Japanese Candy from Oyatsubox – September

This is the August/September 2014 candy box, I’ve subscribed in to receive a box full of Japanese snacks. These are the snacks that I’ve received this month.

What I’ve tried so far is The Mario Kart 7 candy. The Mario Kart 7 box contains a toy and one piece of hard candy. It was pretty yummy. I’ve Also tried the milk & coffee cereal, I must say its very tasty right in my liking area. Its sweet with a hint of bitterness and well coffee flavor. ;p

I’ll try to make the DIY candy kits soon and will make sure to upload videos of them.
