Review:

Kyoukai no Kanata where shall I begin… Its amazing in a very unexpected way. The anime is both brutal and filled with fan service for a PG-13 rated anime. The story is very good both beautiful and sad. There are many amazing stuff in the anime I cant pin point one thing that made it special. To simplify it, its a Slice of life anime with a hint of comedy that takes an action turn of events. I must mention that the animation is gorgeous. Also the characters never failed to surprise me. I really enjoyed getting to know their powers and personalities. I believe that the director and writer are very creative specially with the way they laid down the ending. I totally respect them for that. I wished that the anime had more action in it or more like I wish that some fights have lasted longer. Nonetheless its a great anime.

65440Review:

After watching Utena’s movie I had to know more about the series so I watched the anime and then read the manga. The anime is kinda unimportant compared to the manga. The manga is absolutely amazing. There are some stuff in the manga that are not included in neither the movie or the anime which I think are important. There is more character development in Utena in the manga. The ending was beautiful. It also made me understand Anthy more I think. I fallen in love with Utena after reading the manga, not that I wasn’t already in love with her but she seemed more real to me. I also loved how straight forward the manga is. The special chapter were pretty good too. The stories there were better told in the manga than the anime. Therefore I highly recommend the manga. Also if you are interested in knowing the difference between the manga and the anime just watch the last 3 episodes of the anime. I should also mention that the ending of the anime is different from the manga and different from the movie. Though the essence of the story is the same in all of them.

Review:

Hearing about Bayonetta‘s movie made me jump allover the place. Watching the movie was like a dream come true. I mean Bayonetta in a Japanese voice :$ I’m sold. No really, The movie was incredible. The action is amazing. Basically it was all action one fight after the other, defeated a boss to be confronted with a new one. If you are familiar with the game its very similar to it. The directing is amazing and a very good story. I can assure you that you wont get bored. There were cute moments there and funny ones as well. As great as the movie was I was left unsatisfied. I don’t know why, it just felt like something was missing. If you played the game of a Bayonetta fan you must watch it.

Review:

Revolutionary Girl Utena is a very complected movie. Its very fast base and all over the place you might not understand somethings and the ending won’t make any sense. I liked how complex the movie was, it made me want to learn more about Utena. I loved the action in the movie. Also the diversity of the plot and graphics. I loved how everything was animated… like everything. Also the directing for the movie was brilliant. Of course I appreciated the yuri there there as well. Then again I’m a sucker for complexities. Therefore I believe this movie will only be acceptable to a normal viewer if they watched the anime or read the manga before hand. Nonetheless watching the movie provoked me to watch the anime and read the manga. I mean once I finished this movie I sat there for an hour trying to understand how the created made the story so mushed like that. I mean you’ll only understand whats going on at the very end. Therefore I believe that its a very good movie and amazing directing.

First Impression:

For some reason… I believe this manga is fit as a slice of life. Seiten no Hekigan has a very interesting first chapter that made me continue reading it. As it says in the Summary the manga is follows this girl Natsuki. So far we know that Natsuki had a incident in the past that made her anti-social and depressed. We also know that she encounters an Alian and take her into her home as her sister. I just read chapter 8 and eagerly awaiting the next chapter. You won’t believe how good the story keeps getting. So check it out and tell me what you think.

Review:

I’ve always been an Aladdin fan, so I was instantly attracted to this anime. I must say it exceeded my expectations. Basically Magi is inspired by Arabic literature characters, such as Alibaba, Sindibad, And so on. The fantasy there and the way the plot build up are amazing. There is magic everywhere and not in a cheesy matter. The plot is pretty outstanding, I’ve never seen a shounen anime as good as this one. I love how Aladdin is not always the hero or the main focus in the anime. You get to see all the characters stories. I also liked the fact that Sindibad is important in the anime so is morgana and Alibaba. The art and the fighting scenes are incredible. I strongly recommend the anime and am eagerly waiting for the second season which is gonna be released fall 2013.

Anime Review: Little Busters!

20130529-153524.jpg

Summary:

When tragedy struck Riki Naoe as a child, he was rescued from grief over his parent’s deaths when four other kids “recruited” him for their group—the “Little Busters.” Now in high school, Riki and the other Busters are still fast friends, and though their vision of being heroes for justice may have faded, they’d still do anything for each other. Which is why Riki is now on TWO special missions. The not so secret one: recruiting new members so the Busters can form a baseball team. Preferably FEMALE recruits, as the current dude/babe ratio is an inconvenient 4 to 1. The OTHER mission, though… That’s the strange one. Because Riki and Rin, the group’s singular girl, are receiving odd messages, delivered by cats, concerning the existence of a “secret world” and assigning them tasks they have to complete. Were their youthful dreams of being crusaders not so fanciful after all? Or is there something even more vital at stake? Between steeling his courage to talk to girls, dealing with his own narcolepsy and facing his feelings concerning Rin, Riki may just need the strength of a superhero to solve the ultimate mystery of the Little Busters! (Source: Sentai Filmworks)

General information:

Episodes: 26
Directed by: Yoshiki Yamakawa
Aired: Oct 6, 2012 to Apr 6, 2013

Genres: Comedy, Drama, Romance, School, Fantasy
Rating: PG-13 – Teens 13 or older

Review:

Little busters! is an anime about friendship. It kinda reminded me of Clannad, even though Clannad was more focused on the love story. The anime is PG-13 so it’s delightful to watch with the whole family. At first, the anime is gonna appear to be like a normal school anime, when it’s actually fantasy… So keep that in mind. I love the character design. Though the animation was alright. There is another season coming out soon, which will probably explain the fantasy part of the anime better. It was a bit vague in this season. I totally recommend the anime it’s a wonderful story, very enjoyable, and also funny.

Review:

Fan Review:I’m a huge BRS fan. After watching the anime and ova, I’ve read this BRS manga. I have to say its very different from the ova and anime. The manga has nothing to do with the real world unlike the anime and ova. What makes the manga special is that it only takes place in Hazam. That fact makes the manga so special because in the anime and the ova you only see a fraction of Hazam. You only see the action that took place there, Though in the manga they elaborate more about Hazam. The manga is more like an alternative version of the anime. It’s amazing, you’ll totally love every page of it.

First time reader Review: it’s an incredible story about a world that lies between heaven and earth. The manga include various dramatic stories about different lost souls that ended up in Hazam (the world between heaven and earth). The manga also include some awesome action. There is a surprising twist in the story, and interesting bonds of friendship. You’ll totally get hooked and won’t regret reading the manga. It’s beautiful.

Most Notable Spring 2013 anime

These aren’t all the spring 2013 anime, though I believe those are worth watching. I have to say that I’m glad that there are many mecha and fantasy anime this season. I’ll write down reasons why you should watch them so if your interested read the whole post.

PS. The anime are classified in alphabetical order

Aku no Hana

20130416-143106.jpg

Genres: Drama, Romance, School, Psychological
Rating: R – 17+ (violence & profanity)

The anime is based on a popular manga with the same title. I read like the first chapter of the manga, I liked the art it is good. Though the anime has different kinda art, it’s kinda difficult to swallow at first but you’ll get used to it.

Arata Kangatari

20130416-144826.jpg

Genres: Adventure, Fantasy, Shounen
Rating: PG-13 – Teens 13 or older

There wasn’t anything particularly unique about this anime, though it has some good action and its a good watch.

Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge

20130416-145309.jpg

Genres: Action, Fantasy, Romance, Seinen
Rating: R – 17+ (violence & profanity)

I really liked this anime, the story it pretty weird and the main character is a weirdo. So, basically that was the reason I liked it. The anime is based on a manga with the same title, that is worth checking out.

Date A Live

20130416-151015.jpg

Genres: Comedy, Mecha, Romance, School, Sci-Fi, Shounen
Rating: R – 17+ (violence & profanity)

As I was watching the first episode I changed my mind about the anime like 3 times. I just must say that it’s awesome. You’ll be surprised, entertained, and wouldn’t want the episode to end.

Devil’s Survivor 2

Must Watch

20130416-154553.jpg

Genres: Demons, Supernatural
Rating: PG-13 – Teens 13 or older

Devil’s survivor is part of the Shin Megami Tensei series. The anime doesn’t have a prequel. It’s a stand alone anime titled Devil’s Survivor 2. The art of the anime is pretty awesome and I have high hopes for the story. It’s a must watch.

Ginga Kikoutai Majestic Prince

20130416-163552.jpg

Genres: Action, Mecha, School, Sci-Fi, Seinen
Rating: PG-13 – Teens 13 or older

This anime is story is a bit unusual for a Mecha. It’s about the worst team of robot pilots there is. It’s really interesting to watch.

Haiyore! Nyaruko-san W

20130416-164313.jpg

Genres: Comedy, Parody, Sci-Fi
Rating: R – 17+ (violence & profanity)

This is the sequel of Haiyore! Nyaruko-san, it’s a funny anime. Very entertaining to watch.

Hataraku Maou-sama!

20130416-164640.jpg

Genres: Comedy, Demons, Fantasy, Romance, Shounen
Rating: PG-13 – Teens 13 or older

This anime reminded me of Maoyuu Maou Yuusha the way it basically began from where stories usually end, and it’s about a demon king that is good. It’s insanely funny.

Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko.

20130416-165208.jpg

Genres: Comedy, Romance, School, Seinen
Rating: None – I’ll rate it as PG 13 since its less Ecchi than the manga buts it’s probably R.

From the title of the anime you can tell its pretty Ecchi, though leaving that fact aside it’s a pretty funny anime.

Hyakka Ryouran: Samurai Bride

20130416-165933.jpg

Genres: Action, Comedy, Ecchi, Romance, School
Rating: R+ – Mild Nudity

It’s the sequel of Hyakka Ryouran: Samurai Girls. It’s a nice combination of action and comedy.

Kakumeiki Valvrave

Must Watch

20130416-170544.jpg

Genres: Action, Mecha
Rating: R – 17+ (violence & profanity)

The ending of the first episode was so shocking I don’t know what to expect next. Must watch.

Karneval

20130416-171317.jpg

Genres: Action, Mystery, Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Shoujo
Rating: PG-13 – Teens 13 or older

The anime title and posters are so deceiving… I though it would be a reverse harem kinda anime. Though it turned that it has awesome action, and fantasy. Not to mention that the art was incredible.

Mushibugyou

20130416-171827.jpg

Genres: Martial Arts, Shounen
Rating: PG-13 – Teens 13 or older

It’s nice to see a Martial Arts/Supernatural anime for a change. There weren’t any anime like this for a while.

Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai.

20130416-172309.jpg

Genres: Comedy, Slice of Life, Seinen
Rating: PG-13 – Teens 13 or older

So Kirino is back!! Need I say more?

Photokano

20130416-172541.jpg

Genres: Ecchi, Romance, School
Rating: PG-13 – Teens 13 or older

This anime is a bit weird, I believe it’s based on a video game. The main character gets dragged into joining an Ecchi photography club.

RDG: Red Data Girl

20130416-173044.jpg

Genres: Fantasy
Rating: PG-13 – Teens 13 or older

I like the art of this anime and I love it’s fantasy. It’s promising.

Shingeki no Kyojin

Must Watch

20130416-173455.jpg

Toaru Kagaku no Railgun S

Must Watch

20130416-174229.jpg

Genres: Action, Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Super Power
Rating: PG-13 – Teens 13 or older

This anime is the sequel of Toaru Kagaku no Railgun and it’s part of the Toaru Majutsu no Index series. I loved the first season of this anime so I’ve been looking forward to this one. I must say that this one seems… I mean has more action which is awesome.

Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru.

20130416-174909.jpg

Genres: Comedy, Romance, School
Rating: PG-13 – Teens 13 or older

This anime reminded me of Ore no Kanojo to Osananajimi ga Shuraba Sugiru but like a better version. I very much enjoyed the first episode and totally love the art.

Zettai Bouei Leviathan

20130416-175341.jpg

Genres: Fantasy
