Anime Review: Golden Time

Golden-Time-Episode-13

Summary:
Tada Banri, a newly admitted student at a private law school in Tokyo, found himself completely lost after the opening ceremony, trying to find his way to the freshman orientation. At that moment, he ran into another lost freshman from the same school, Yanagisawa Mitsuo, and they hit it off at once. Somehow arriving at their intended goal just on time, there appeared in front of the two a beautiful girl holding a bouquet of roses. The girl then whacked Mitsuo across the face with the bouquet and handed the flowers over to him. “Freshman, congratulations,” was all she said, and then left. The stylish, well dressed, perfect woman that had swung at Mitsuo was his childhood friend, Kaga Kouko. As children they had promised to marry each other one day, fulfilling their dreams. In order to escape from her, Mitsuo had gone out secretly and taken the examination for this well known private college, but now she showed up in the freshman orientation hall. She too had taken the law school entrance examination, catching up with him there. (Source: Baka-Tsuki)

golden-time-6

Review:

Golden Time is one of the most outstanding romance anime I’ve come across. It is different from your usual romance story but in a good way. The character development in the anime was amazing. Also the way they influenced each other. It felt more realistic than any other romance anime I’ve come across. The anime did address the issue of memory loss in a beautiful way, I know that sounds wrong but you must see it to believe it.

There was also an outstanding female heroin which made the show more fun to watch. I think that the anime was implying that life goes and and one shouldn’t be stuck in the past. The ending of the anime made me happy and a little sad at the same time. There was this one character that I wanted to know more about or wanted her to be happy, I don’t know… she was smiling though. I think that should be enough. Anyhow Golden Time is an amazing anime it would be a waste not to watch it. Highly recommended.

Anime Review: Sasami-san@Ganbaranai

sasami_san_ganbaranai___06___large_end_card

Summary:

The Japanese call them hikikomori—people who’ve become so withdrawn socially that they refuse to leave their homes for weeks and even months at a time. For Sasami Tsukuyomi, who’s attempting to pass her first year of high school despite being a shut in, it’s more than just a word. Fortunately though, she lives with her older brother Kamiomi, who just happens to be a teacher at the school Sasami is supposed to attend. Not to mention, her “Brother Surveillance Tool” which lets her view the outside world via her computer and will, theoretically, allow her to readjust to interfacing with people again. What it mainly does, however, is let her view her brother’s interactions with the three very odd Yagami sisters, who inexplicably seem to have had their ages reversed and have various types of “interest” in Kamiomi. And then things start to get really weird… Magical powers? Everything turning into chocolate? Is life via the web warping Sasami’s brain, or is it the universe that’s going crazy? Review:

At first I was interested in Sasami-san@Ganbaranai because Sasami is a hikikomori. Like in the first episode how she was writing her fictional story… It was epic how the events of the episode kept turning. Then there was the Yagami sisters, they made the show very fun to watch. In short I enjoyed Sasami-san@Ganbaranai very much. The anime was full of action, unnatural events, comedy, and pretty emotional issues that were addressed there. It was very interesting to watch pretty unpredictable and they keep surprising you in each and every episode. It got pretty dark at times… Like very dark but it didn’t ruin the story. The anime wasn’t great but it was very good. I wasn’t impressed with the ending, it didn’t do the anime justice. Overall very good anime.

Kotonoha-no-Niwa

Review:

Kotonoha no Niwa is the most beautiful anime movie. The art is breath taking. The story is so moving. While watching the movie I was sure of one thing I didn’t want it to end. I wasn’t sure where the story is going and I didn’t care. This is one of those movies where every detail count without caring about what the ending is or could be. Its a must watch and should be in every anime fan shelf. I mean its that great… and I kinda feel like whatever I say wont do it justice.

mai-hime

Review:

Mai-Hime is a great anime. I was genuinely surprised about how good it was, I honestly didn’t expect it. It is a fairly or somewhat of an old anime. Nonetheless it is worth watching very good story and an interesting plot. It does have a somewhat of a Shoujo Ai aspect to it. I’m just giving you a heads up. The most interesting part for me was that each character had a certain depth to her/him. its not like other anime where the main character is the main focus. The was a dragon in the anime which turn up its rate for me. There were some pretty funny moments in the anime and some very dramatic ones that got me teary. Therefore its an excellent story. As for the animation it was pretty good for its time… as in fairly animated. The soundtrack was pretty cool as well. There wasn’t anything bad about the anime but it did lack something, You should check it out and judge for yourself.

Review:

I usually don’t like movies that are sad. Surprisingly I liked this one. I haven’t read the novel yet so this review is strictly about the movie. The movie began as a total cliche. Literally like every other romantic movie. I was disappointed. Then the movie took a completely different turn. the story was actually beautiful. I even got a favorite quote from the movie. It was that good. This is the first movie that ever made me wonder about how I actually feel about the movie that I just watched… if you know what I mean. Like there was tones of emotions there. Also the twist took me by surprise. I’m not even sure I can call it a twist I mean wasn’t that what the movie was building up to? Yet, still the ending made me wonder whether or not I like the movie. It was realistic and brilliant. Yet there was still that cliche aspect to it… but still beautiful. I feel like I’m just blabbering now so just go watch the movie, its good. Its really good.

Color-in-Simoun

Review:

Simoun had a very unusual story. I cant call the anime Shoujo Ai or Yuri though. The characters in the anime are genderless and they can choose their gender once they are 18 I guess or something like that. So there are a lot of stuff about this anime that you need to consider when watching it. Like the Mecha, which I love there. The story had so much depth in it. I wasn’t expecting that. Also it addresses some serious issues which was very entertaining for me, In short, It exceeded my expectations in a very good way. I also loved the fact that I got to see every characters story they didn’t just focus one the two main characters. There was something about the ending that I didn’t quite like. It would be a major spoiler if I mention it so watch the anime and enjoy it. It has a pretty good story. The ending isn’t bad or anything like that. There was just something there that I didn’t like.

65440Review:

After watching Utena’s movie I had to know more about the series so I watched the anime and then read the manga. The anime is kinda unimportant compared to the manga. The manga is absolutely amazing. There are some stuff in the manga that are not included in neither the movie or the anime which I think are important. There is more character development in Utena in the manga. The ending was beautiful. It also made me understand Anthy more I think. I fallen in love with Utena after reading the manga, not that I wasn’t already in love with her but she seemed more real to me. I also loved how straight forward the manga is. The special chapter were pretty good too. The stories there were better told in the manga than the anime. Therefore I highly recommend the manga. Also if you are interested in knowing the difference between the manga and the anime just watch the last 3 episodes of the anime. I should also mention that the ending of the anime is different from the manga and different from the movie. Though the essence of the story is the same in all of them.
