After a fated event, her life takes a turn for the extraordinary. Though she initially uses her power to literally “leap” into the past and change little things in order to make her life easier, she soon has to face the fact that changing the past can have drastic consequences. Review:

So I heard and read a lot about this movie before I watched it. I was also meaning to watch it for quite a while. I didn’t get a chance to until few months ago. So yes this review is very delayed.
The Girl Who Leapt Through Time I must say that the title itself is quite intriguing. The movie wasn’t what I had in mind. For some reason I thought she would travel to a different life time. Though the time leaps were a mater of days or hours. Though the way the story was presented was quite interesting, and I specially loved the twist near the ending of the movie. I also liked the fact that the character developed after the events that happened throughout the movie. It was pretty interesting to watch. Also, the amount of drama, comedy, thriller factors were just right. I never got bored and everything I discovered was always interesting. The movie was perfect specially the ending it left me speechless. If you haven’t watched it yet… I say it’s a must watch!!

For some reason… I believe this manga is fit as a slice of life. Seiten no Hekigan has a very interesting first chapter that made me continue reading it. As it says in the Summary the manga is follows this girl Natsuki. So far we know that Natsuki had a incident in the past that made her anti-social and depressed. We also know that she encounters an Alian and take her into her home as her sister. I just read chapter 8 and eagerly awaiting the next chapter. You won’t believe how good the story keeps getting. So check it out and tell me what you think.

Manga Review: Gantz – Manga Olympics for Bloggers (Seinen/Shounen Round 2)

20130721-215313.jpg

Summary:

Thought your life was bad? Sometimes, death is worse. There is no salvation, peace, nor god waiting to receive you into their care. But wait, a god? Maybe you are talking about that big black ball stuck in the room with you. Now you are thrown into a game, fighting green aliens and robot monsters for the chance to survive.
When Kei Kurono is killed, he thus finds himself caught in such a game; a test of his skills, morals and will to survive. His life is not his own, his death spat and trampled upon over and over again. What happens if he does not listen? God knows.
A word of warning: Gantz is not for the faint-hearted, but neither is it as simple as it looks. Gore, rape and violence is rampant, as are portrayals of greed, violence, and all the ugliness that one sees in society today. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

General Information:

Type: Manga
Volumes: 37
Chapters: 383
Status: Finished
Published: Jul 13, 2000 to Jun 20, 2013
Genres: Action, Drama, Ecchi, Horror, Sci-Fi, Supernatural, Psychological, Seinen
Authors: Oku, Hiroya (Story & Art)
Serialization: Young Jump

20130721-215513.jpg

Review:

Firs of all thank you Sir Hiroya Oku for 13 amazing years of Gantz. I still can’t believe it ended… I kept looking for one more page after the last page of the last chapter. So yeah, I’m a huge Gantz fan. It’s an amazing manga if you haven’t checked it out, you should.

20130722-024742.jpg

Now for the actual review. Gantz concept is totally unique. The manga Follows Kei Kurono & Masaru Katou, they are basically the main characters. Due to the concept of the story a lot of characters appear in the manga. The manga is amazing. I loved the story up until the Osaka Arc. It was magical. Though the last arc which is the catastrophe arc, was totally weird. The manga does develop greatly to reach that arc, but the fights weren’t as good as the previous arcs.
The action is absolutely brutal through out the whole manga, I’m not saying that the last arc was bad. It was just a little disappointing for me. Also, I’ve noticed that the whole focus was back to Kurono. I know that Nishi and Sakurai were also main topics in that arc, though it always fell back to Kurono. To be completely honest here, I was disappointed and didn’t like that fact. One more thing I didn’t like in the manga was the fact that we didn’t see most of the characters in action. Specially Reika, did she ever fight?
Supposedly she got 100 point and fought bravely against so many tough Aliens. Though we didn’t see any of that, did we? It was always Kurono this, Kurono that, and her looking pretty in the background of the page… I mean seriously? Well, even with all that its still my favorite manga and it’s the best and brutalist manga out there. Also the story is amazing. I like the idea of Gantz. Is it recommended? Yes of course.

Review:

I really enjoyed this anime. It had a strong beginning and keeps you interested till the end. The ending was very sad for me. Though i don’t hate sad ending. I like the fact that the Mecha had its own personality it’s something that I haven’t seen in Mecha anime before. I also liked the fact that through out the anime you actually see how the main character adapts with the new environment he’s in. There was some awesome action going on there. Not to mention, I loved the character design as well as the animation. The story was amazing, with a sad ending. *sobs*

I almost forgot… There were a lot of unexpected things that happened in the anime which makes it that much more interesting to watch!! I totally recommend it! You won’t regret watching it!

Shido’s sister-in-law, Kotori, tells him that the girl is called “Special Disasterous Designated Creature: Spirit”, which causes a timespace quake. Kotori disclosed that she is the commander of the anti-spirit organization Ratatosk and orders him to go out on a date with the spirit girl. Kotori says, “I don’t ask you to beat the spirit. Review:

I believe this anime is all about fan service. The characters are so cute, as you can see in the pictures above. Though the story is kinda weird. Basically, it’s about “spirits”, an organization that fights against them and another organization that’s based on a gal game which is kinda with and against them. The main character is kind of a perv and all the girls fall for him still. Was the story great? No, but for a Harem anime it had a decent story. Am I excited that there is a second season? Yes, for so many reasons. Oh, I almost forgot… The anime was actually good, and there was something good in the story. Not great, just good. Is the anime a must watch? No, though it is a nice anime to watch. So if your interested, watch it. If not, then don’t.

Most Notable Spring 2013 anime

These aren’t all the spring 2013 anime, though I believe those are worth watching. I have to say that I’m glad that there are many mecha and fantasy anime this season. I’ll write down reasons why you should watch them so if your interested read the whole post.

PS. The anime are classified in alphabetical order

Aku no Hana

20130416-143106.jpg

Genres: Drama, Romance, School, Psychological
Rating: R – 17+ (violence & profanity)

The anime is based on a popular manga with the same title. I read like the first chapter of the manga, I liked the art it is good. Though the anime has different kinda art, it’s kinda difficult to swallow at first but you’ll get used to it.

Arata Kangatari

20130416-144826.jpg

Genres: Adventure, Fantasy, Shounen
Rating: PG-13 – Teens 13 or older

There wasn’t anything particularly unique about this anime, though it has some good action and its a good watch.

Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge

20130416-145309.jpg

Genres: Action, Fantasy, Romance, Seinen
Rating: R – 17+ (violence & profanity)

I really liked this anime, the story it pretty weird and the main character is a weirdo. So, basically that was the reason I liked it. The anime is based on a manga with the same title, that is worth checking out.

Date A Live

20130416-151015.jpg

Genres: Comedy, Mecha, Romance, School, Sci-Fi, Shounen
Rating: R – 17+ (violence & profanity)

As I was watching the first episode I changed my mind about the anime like 3 times. I just must say that it’s awesome. You’ll be surprised, entertained, and wouldn’t want the episode to end.

Devil’s Survivor 2

Must Watch

20130416-154553.jpg

Genres: Demons, Supernatural
Rating: PG-13 – Teens 13 or older

Devil’s survivor is part of the Shin Megami Tensei series. The anime doesn’t have a prequel. It’s a stand alone anime titled Devil’s Survivor 2. The art of the anime is pretty awesome and I have high hopes for the story. It’s a must watch.

Ginga Kikoutai Majestic Prince

20130416-163552.jpg

Genres: Action, Mecha, School, Sci-Fi, Seinen
Rating: PG-13 – Teens 13 or older

This anime is story is a bit unusual for a Mecha. It’s about the worst team of robot pilots there is. It’s really interesting to watch.

Haiyore! Nyaruko-san W

20130416-164313.jpg

Genres: Comedy, Parody, Sci-Fi
Rating: R – 17+ (violence & profanity)

This is the sequel of Haiyore! Nyaruko-san, it’s a funny anime. Very entertaining to watch.

Hataraku Maou-sama!

20130416-164640.jpg

Genres: Comedy, Demons, Fantasy, Romance, Shounen
Rating: PG-13 – Teens 13 or older

This anime reminded me of Maoyuu Maou Yuusha the way it basically began from where stories usually end, and it’s about a demon king that is good. It’s insanely funny.

Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko.

20130416-165208.jpg

Genres: Comedy, Romance, School, Seinen
Rating: None – I’ll rate it as PG 13 since its less Ecchi than the manga buts it’s probably R.

From the title of the anime you can tell its pretty Ecchi, though leaving that fact aside it’s a pretty funny anime.

Hyakka Ryouran: Samurai Bride

20130416-165933.jpg

Genres: Action, Comedy, Ecchi, Romance, School
Rating: R+ – Mild Nudity

It’s the sequel of Hyakka Ryouran: Samurai Girls. It’s a nice combination of action and comedy.

Kakumeiki Valvrave

Must Watch

20130416-170544.jpg

Genres: Action, Mecha
Rating: R – 17+ (violence & profanity)

The ending of the first episode was so shocking I don’t know what to expect next. Must watch.

Karneval

20130416-171317.jpg

Genres: Action, Mystery, Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Shoujo
Rating: PG-13 – Teens 13 or older

The anime title and posters are so deceiving… I though it would be a reverse harem kinda anime. Though it turned that it has awesome action, and fantasy. Not to mention that the art was incredible.

Mushibugyou

20130416-171827.jpg

Genres: Martial Arts, Shounen
Rating: PG-13 – Teens 13 or older

It’s nice to see a Martial Arts/Supernatural anime for a change. There weren’t any anime like this for a while.

Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai.

20130416-172309.jpg

Genres: Comedy, Slice of Life, Seinen

So Kirino is back!! Need I say more?

Photokano

20130416-172541.jpg

Genres: Ecchi, Romance, School
Rating: PG-13 – Teens 13 or older

This anime is a bit weird, I believe it’s based on a video game. The main character gets dragged into joining an Ecchi photography club.

RDG: Red Data Girl

20130416-173044.jpg

Genres: Fantasy
Rating: PG-13 – Teens 13 or older

I like the art of this anime and I love it’s fantasy. It’s promising.

Shingeki no Kyojin

20130416-173455.jpg

Toaru Kagaku no Railgun S

Must Watch

20130416-174229.jpg

Genres: Action, Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Super Power
Rating: PG-13 – Teens 13 or older

This anime is the sequel of Toaru Kagaku no Railgun and it’s part of the Toaru Majutsu no Index series. I loved the first season of this anime so I’ve been looking forward to this one. I must say that this one seems… I mean has more action which is awesome.

Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru.

20130416-174909.jpg

Genres: Comedy, Romance, School
Rating: PG-13 – Teens 13 or older

This anime reminded me of Ore no Kanojo to Osananajimi ga Shuraba Sugiru but like a better version. I very much enjoyed the first episode and totally love the art.

Zettai Bouei Leviathan

20130416-175341.jpg

Genres: Fantasy
Rating: PG-13 – Teens 13 or older

Since the first episode was surprisingly good, I’ve decide it to add it to the list. It’s delightful to watch.

As none of their weapons worked and they fell into despair, a lone girl takes a stand wearing a red “Palette Suit” which wields a great, hidden power. Before long, allies gather around her to fight. And their friendship becomes the only hope for saving the world! (Source: ANN)

General Information:

Producers: Aniplex, A-1 Pictures
Genres: Action, Sci-Fi
Rating: PG-13 – Teens 13 or older

20130403-010515.jpg

Review:

Since the anime is PG-13 it’s kinda childish. Here is the thing, the anime is about the bounds of friendship which is an awesome theme. Then there are the “Alone” which are evil machines which means good vs. evil. Then, there is the “nothing is what it seems” message. You see each aspect sounds good, but as a combination it’s kinda cheese… Or shall I say ridiculous. The storyline felt so calculated. I’m not saying that the anime is bad. There were some good aspects about the anime, I did enjoy it, kinda. Though, it wasn’t anything wowing of amazing.

Review:

Robotics;Notes is an amazing anime. It’s so inspiring. I love the character’s determination and hard work. It’s such a good story, well written and interesting. The thing is Robotics;Notes is made by the same creators as Steins;Gate which led me to compare them… I wasn’t intending to but it was always on the back of my mind. That fact made the anime seem a bit ordinary until episode 16… That episode made me feel. The anime was in a different level from the things I’ve watch before “mystery, drama” I mean. It’s a job we’ll done. Let’s not forget how good the soundtrack was. I believe it’s a must watch! So be sure to watch this anime.

Anime Review: Psycho-Pass

20130326-051604.jpg

This information is recorded and processed, and the term “Psycho-Pass” refers to a standard used to measure an individual’s being. The story centers around the “enforcement officer” Shinya Kougami, who is tasked with managing crime in such a world.
In the future, it is possible to quantitatively measure a person’s emotions, desires, and every inclination. In this way, it is also possible to measure a person’s criminal tendency factor, which is used to judge criminals.
This is the story of a team of policemen dedicated to maintaining public order. Some of them work in the Enforcement Division, responsible for the apprehension of criminals, while others belong to the Supervisory Division which oversees their colleagues in Enforcement. Review:

Psycho-Pass has a solid plot, straight forward and series. I loved how the story didn’t trail off not even once. There’s a meaning behind everything you see. The characters were awesome, and the weapons were great. The amount of bloody scenes there is just correct and uncensored for once! =D
There is also the fact that you keep discovering new things about their world as the episodes progress. It’s a very well made anime. The animations and soundtrack were awesome as well. I believe it’s a must watch… So go watch it!!
